Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at alcostasd@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We need ALL finished surfaces where the glass is going to be touching COMPLETE. We will be out to measure within 3 business days from the time that you call.

Unfortunately we will not. We will only install our shower enclosures that you see here on our website. We offer many custom colors and designs, feel free to call or email with any questions.

Typically a custom frameless enclosure take about 2 weeks for installation. Time may increase for specialty hardware colors depending on supply demands.

Standard semi-frameless enclosures run 1-2 weeks.

10 Things To Know Before Starting A Bathroom Remodel

Want a Frameless Enclosure?

 Precautionary Guidelines:

  • When the hinges are screwed into the threshold, the weight of the glass sits on top of the screws, necessitating the structural support.
  • Without proper structural support, when the door is moved this could cause the screws to move slightly. Over time, this slight movement enlarges the hole the screw is in and eventually cracks (spider webs).
  • Acrylic or fiberglass walls have blocking installed by the manufacturer. However, the location of that backing may not match the location of where the holes need to be drilled for wall mount hinges.
  • Without proper backing behind the walls, the door will eventually slip out of the thin walls.
  • Metal studs or strapping are not acceptable substitutes for securing load-bearing hardware.

Installation of frameless enclosure WITHOUT BACKING in the wall for the hinges WILL REQUIRE installation with a headrail and top and bottom pivot hinges.

I would like to update the look of my shower without making any changes to my tile/surround

Consider the condition of your existing tile/walls. We typically do the removal of your existing enclosure the same day that we install your new one. Removal of an enclosure on a separate trip will cost an extra trip fee.

If you currently have an enclosure with metal framing on your walls, the best option is to do a new updated semi-frameless enclosure that will cover any discoloration and holes in your tile/walls from your existing enclosure.

If you wish to put a frameless enclosure in place of an enclosure with metal framing, consider removing the existing enclosure in advance so that you may properly address any clean up or work needed on your tile/walls before we install your frameless glass.
